Las Vegas has a reputation for being an expensive city, yet there are tons of free things to see and do on the strip. If you’re on a budget, or perhaps you burned through your budget a little too fast, you might feel trapped in what is supposed to be a fun city.
The good news is, there are tons of free things to see and do on the Las Vegas strip. So, I organized them for you starting at the north end of the strip to the south, with some rough time estimates for each. You could easily spend an entire full day in Vegas walking from one free attraction to the next.
Circus Acts – Circus Circus Hotel & Casino
Suggested Visit Duration: 30 minutes
Monday - Thursday: 1:30 PM

Friday - Sunday: 11:30 AM
Experience free daily performances featuring acrobats, trapeze artists, and clowns inside the world's largest permanent circus. If you’re staying at Circus Circus, or the Strat, this is an easy stop right before lunch.
It’s mostly trapeze artists, and it definitely has more appeal if you’re traveling with your kids. Otherwise, you can skip this one due to the late start and not feel like you’re missing out.
Streetmosphere Performers – The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian
Walking Time from Circus Circus: Approximately 20 minutes
Suggested Visit Duration: 30 minutes
Enjoy live opera singers, living statues, and costumed performers that bring the Venice-inspired shopping area to life throughout the day. The draw here is to get you engaged and to consider buying souvenirs or sign up for one of the gondola rides. There’s definitely an Italian arts and culture vibe that’s worth a stop.
Lake of Dreams Show – Wynn Las Vegas
Walking Time from The Venetian: Approximately 10 minutes
Suggested Visit Duration: 20 minutes

This is an evening-only show that runs nightly from dusk until 11:30 PM, with shows every half hour. It’s an immersive multimedia show with music, holographic, and light projected over a private lake—viewable from the hotel's terrace or bar. If you’re looking for a place to have a drink at the end of a long day, this is a great stop.
Fall of Atlantis Show – Caesars Palace Forum Shops
Walking Time from The Mirage: Approximately 20 minutes
Suggested Visit Duration: 20 minutes
A dramatic animatronic show with fire, water effects, and talking statues telling the story of Atlantis' downfall. It’s shows every hour on the hour, from noon to 8 pm, Wednesday through Monday.
Wildlife Habitat – Flamingo Las Vegas
Walking Time from Caesars Palace: Approximately 10 minutes
Suggested Visit Duration: 30 minutes

A peaceful garden oasis home to flamingos, koi fish, and exotic birds, tucked away behind the Flamingo Hotel. This is one of my favorite stops when I’ve been walking the mid strip, I’m feeling hot and my feet are tired. There’s a lot of easy seating, and shade.
The spot next to the fountain is cooling and a cool place for a picture. Then you also get to see an interesting assortment of animals.
Pick up a cold bottle of water or a sports drink at the nearby Walgreens, to take a rest and rehydrate. The stores inside the Flamingo are staggeringly expensive, with bottles of water at a simple commissary costing over $5.
Bellagio Fountains – Bellagio Hotel & Casino
Walking Time from Flamingo Las Vegas: Approximately 10 minutes
Suggested Visit Duration: 15 minutes
A breathtaking choreographed water, music, and light show set in an 8.5-acre lake, performing daily in front of the Bellagio. It’s best at night, but it’s still interesting in the daylight hours.
On weekdays, the show runs every 30 minutes from 3 PM to 6:30 PM and then every 15 minutes from 7 PM to midnight. On weekends and holidays, the show runs every 30 minutes from 12 PM to 6:30 PM and then every 15 minutes from 7 PM to midnight.
Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens – Bellagio Hotel & Casino

Located just outside the Bellagio Conservatory
Suggested Visit Duration: 30 minutes
A stunning indoor garden display that changes seasonally with elaborate floral sculptures and creative design. It sort of makes you feel like this is where florists and gardeners go when they want a big payday. It’s an easy stop while you’re waiting for the Bellagio fountain show to start.
The LINQ Promenade & Fountain Show – The LINQ Hotel + Experience
Walking Time from Bellagio Fountains: Approximately 15 minutes
Suggested Visit Duration: 30 minutes
A lively pedestrian area with nightly fountain shows, street performers, and a vibrant atmosphere perfect for strolling. There’s also a modestly priced zipline experience here that might be your special event for the day if you’re willing to spend a little money.
The fountain show operates from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM Monday to Thursday, 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM on Friday and Saturday, and 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Sunday.
Welcome to Las Vegas Sign – Just south of Mandalay Bay
Walking Time from The LINQ Promenade: Approximately 45 minutes
Suggested Visit Duration: 15 minutes
An iconic photo opportunity at the historic neon "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign is located on the south end of the Strip.
To be honest with you, I understand that this is a popular tourist destination for taking photos. However, I don’t think it’s worth the long walk through the crowds just for a picture. If you happen to be at the south end of the strip already, it’s worth a stop, but I wouldn’t make it a point to go there just for the photo.
